Payment Methods on Tester Work

Santo is coming up on his 1st anniversary of being a freelance tester on Tester Work. Happy 1st year of testing, Santo! Besides his outstanding work as a tester, he is also a content creator, and in this article, he sheds some light on payment methods.

In the other guides published on this blog we talked about how to start working on Tester Work but how do you withdraw the money you get? Once you reach the minimum amount of money to claim (5$), there are two methods to claim the money.

PayPal

PayPal is an online payment system that acts as a link between the site and the user’s card. In this case just enter the email connected to the Paypal account, which must be connected to a card or bank account to claim the money.

Upwork

Upwork is a platform that allows freelancers to sell a service that has a sort of wallet inside it to which bank accounts, PayPal, Skrill, and Payoneer can be connected. To receive money on Upwork you just have to enter the URL of your Upwork profile in the section “Payout method”.

But before understanding how to withdraw the money, you have to earn it, you can earn it through testers by carrying out two types of tests.

Exploratory test

They concern a type of test in which you will be given a link if you have to test a website or an app you have to test an app. You will be free to wander around the test environment to find bugs, once you find the bug you will have to go to the report section and report the bug by filling in all the required fields, adding (if necessary) a screenshot or video that reproduces the bug. After reporting the bug, it will be reviewed by the Tester Work team and if valid you will be credited with an amount based on the severity of the bug (Usability, Low, Medium, High, Critical).

Test case execution

They concern a type of test where the payment is fixed and is shown to you at the time of registration (accepting the test invitation). In this type of testing project, you will have to follow the instructions that will be provided to you by the Tester Work team. You will have to follow step-by-step instructions and report if each step works correctly or if there are problems during execution.

Take some time to study how to report bugs and to understand the various severities that bugs can have without rushing. The world of insects is complicated but at the same time very fun and creative so let yourself be carried away!

Happy testing!
